Senior Systems Engineer (Partial Remote)

Position Summary:
 
The Senior Systems Engineer will design and implement automation and controls systems, both simple and complex, for Electric Utility customers. To be successful in this role, you should understand the basics of Power Engineering, how data flows in a SCADA environment, and be comfortable providing good customer interactions. You’ll be responsible for meeting the needs of the customer based on specifications, industry standards, and new technologies. You’ll need to track changes during the course of every project. Ultimately, you will help us support our products that address critical infrastructure.

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• Hardware skills in troubleshooting communication problems
• 3+ years’ experience in Utility Industry and/or SCADA
• Knowledge of HMI/SCADA Master systems
• Programming/scripting with VB6/VBA/SQL/Perl/Python/C or Lua (required at least 2)
• Knowledge of TCP Networking including IP Routing, Topologies, and Firewalls
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, team-oriented and results-driven
• Able to share knowledge with other Engineers, the Sales Team, and Customers

Nice to have:

• Relay programming basic a plus (SEL, ABB, Basler)
• Minimum one year experience with project management in automation and controls, demonstrating project management skills in scoping, scheduling and tracking projects
• Experience with substation RTUs/IO devices/IEDs
• Demonstrated knowledge of MODBUS, DNP, and other industrial protocols
