Job Description:

Attorney recruitments MUST BE LICENSED in the State of Tennessee, if no Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility License they are ineligible. This should be verified and the license should be provided with the resume to verify they are eligible to be considered as a state of Tennessee licensed attorney candidate.

To support an influx of eligibility appeals, the (Litigation Attorney) unit is requesting additional support in the attorney capacity to ensure federal timeline requirements can continue to be met with high quality.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Juris Doctor from an accredited college or university
• Active License to practice law in Tennessee
• Ability to foster and maintain cohesive working relationships
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
• Ability to exercise sound judgment
• Excellent organizational skills necessary, including the ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage
workload to meet specific timeframes and deadlines
• Excellent writing and communication skills required
• Ability to interpret and execute public policy

• Ability to interface with multiple computer systems and applications
Desirable Qualifications:
• Knowledge of and experience with Administrative Procedures a plus
• Previous litigation experience a plus

 Considerations before submitting candidates: Can they commit to the project duration? Do they have a private law practice? They should understand they may be prohibited from the practice of law outside of their TennCare assignment. This is due to potential conflicts of interest, etc. Do they have any experience working for or with the State of Tennessee? Do they have court room experience? Do they have client facing experience? Ask them to share about job history (why did they leave former employers?) Why are they looking for a change currently, what is it they like or dislike about their current positions? We must ensure the integrity of our work is protected with no conflicts of interests, etc.
