Job Description:
This position will be responsible for advancing smoking cessation initiatives, with a focus on populations experiencing the highest rates of tobacco use.
Key responsibilities include:
Program Leadership: Direct and manage evidence-based cessation programs designed to reduce tobacco and nicotine use across the state.
Stakeholder Engagement: Convene and collaborate with public health partners, community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to build capacity and strengthen statewide tobacco control efforts.
Data-Driven Decision-Making: Utilize epidemiologic data and program evaluation to inform strategies, monitor progress, and ensure accountability in reducing tobacco-related burden.
Strategic Implementation: Align program goals with TDH priorities, and national best practices to maximize impact on population health.
The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills to drive a comprehensive tobacco cessation agenda. This role offers the opportunity to shape statewide initiatives, improve health outcomes, and reduce the toll of tobacco and vaping on Tennessee communities.
