Job Description:
As the IT Project Manager IV, the ability to resolve sophisticated problems, explain difficult issues and cultivate positive relationships are all important skills needed for this role. This role will also require extensive knowledge of the software development process and how to use business applications for a competitive advantage. We are looking for someone who can bring a new perspective on existing solutions to improve performance, efficiency, and safety!
Responsibilities/Expectations:
o Leads and coordinates a variety of sophisticated projects with significant impact to our organization
o Understands business requirements, project risks and project lifecycle
o Applies expertise and leadership skills to advise staff and to resolve issues
o Measures and reports project performance to our leadership team
o Cultivates relationship with our clients and company partners
o Collaborates with others on software development process, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, modern testing methodologies and deployment management
o Uses business applications for competitive advantage
o Applies knowledge of business challenges to improve products, processes or services
o Interprets internal/external customer needs, assesses requirements and identifies responses
o Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
o Required: Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field or engineering; minimum seven (7) years’ experience in project management with a minimum three (3) years’ experience in information technology or minimum eleven (11) years’ related business experience
o Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Other Requirements:
o Demonstrates strong organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
o Has developed conceptual and practical expertise in own field
o Strongly Preferred: Experience managing IT infrastructure projects and programs including core hosting, corporate and field network, cloud implementations, etc.
o Preferred: Experience in oil and gas industry, preferably leading projects that work with field/operations
o Preferred: Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously, both large and small in fast-paced environment
o Preferred: Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
o Preferred: Extensive knowledge of plan development and execution, scope planning, schedule development, cost estimating, budgeting, and control, communications planning, risk identification and risk response control
o Preferred: Data Bricks & Big Data Analytics experience
o Infrastructure Experience is a must have
Must Have
IT Infrastructure Project Management: Proven experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure projects such as core hosting, corporate networks, cloud implementations, or data center environments.
Project Lifecycle Management: Strong expertise in full project lifecycle including scope planning, schedule development, budgeting, risk management, and execution.
Software Development & IT Systems Knowledge: Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), deployment processes, release/version control, and modern testing methodologies.
Enterprise Stakeholder & Team Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders while driving project outcomes.
Data Platforms / Analytics Exposure: Experience working with Big Data environments or platforms such as Databricks, and leveraging business applications to improve operational efficiency.
Nice to Have
Oil & Gas Industry Experience: Experience managing IT projects in the energy, utilities, or oil & gas sector, especially projects supporting field operations.
PMP Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar project management certification.
Cloud & Modern Infrastructure Exposure: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
Multi-Project Program Management: Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Big Data & Analytics Platforms: Exposure to Databricks, big data ecosystems, or enterprise data analytics platforms supporting business decision-making
